Investigation of the Causes of Resin Material Damage (Creep Failure)

By magnifying and observing the fracture surface of the damaged resin material, we will investigate the cause of the damage by identifying the origin of the cracks and the type of fracture.

Our company conducts "Investigation of the Causes of Resin Material Failure (Creep Fracture)." When cracks or breaks occur in resin products, various fracture morphologies such as ductile fracture and brittle fracture can be observed on the fracture surface. In this case, we will introduce an investigation example of a resin product that was damaged due to creep fracture. The product was used in a high-temperature environment and experienced failure within 1 to 2 years of use. The fracture surface revealed fibrous patterns characteristic of creep fracture, formed by the elongation of the resin material. Based on the characteristics of this fracture surface and the fact that the product was used under high temperatures, it was inferred that the damage was caused by creep fracture. [Creep Fracture] ■ A phenomenon where, under high temperatures or in environments with significant temperature changes, a constant stress causes the material to undergo plastic deformation over time. ■ Creep fracture in resin materials can occur even at relatively low temperatures, such as room temperature, and becomes more pronounced as the temperature rises. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Investigation of the Causes of Resin Material Damage (Fatigue Failure)

You can understand the process that led to damage, such as fatigue failure, ductile failure, and brittle failure!

Our company conducts "Investigation of the Causes of Resin Material Damage (Fatigue Fracture)." When cracks or breaks occur in resin products, various fracture surface morphologies such as ductile fracture and brittle fracture can be observed on the fracture surface. In this case, we will introduce an investigation example of a resin product that was damaged due to fatigue fracture. In the observation case of a broken polycarbonate (PC), shell-like patterns (beach marks) were observed on the fracture surface. Such patterns are characteristic of fatigue fractures. Fatigue fracture refers to the phenomenon where repeated stress is applied to resin, leading to failure. Based on the characteristics of the fracture surface, it was inferred that the damage was caused by fatigue fracture due to the application of repeated stress. [Investigation Methods] ■ Visual or microscopic observation of the appearance ■ Preparation of samples for magnified observation ■ Magnified observation using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Investigation of the Causes of Metal Material Damage

It is possible to understand the circumstances that led to failure, such as fatigue failure, ductile failure, and brittle failure!

We would like to introduce our service for "Investigation of Causes of Metal Material Failure." By observing the fracture surfaces and cross-sections of the broken metal materials, we investigate the causes leading to the fracture by identifying the origin of the failure and the type of failure. If corrosion products are present on the fracture surface, we can estimate the elements contributing to the corrosion through component analysis of the detected elements. 【Investigation Process】 1. Visual Inspection 2. Macro Examination 3. Micro Examination 4. Analysis of Adherents 5. Cause Analysis 6. Prevention Recommendations *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Investigation of the causes of resin material damage

For damaged products made of various resins! Identify the origin of cracks and the type of damage.

We would like to introduce our "Investigation of the Causes of Resin Material Failure." By magnifying and observing the fracture surface of the damaged resin material, we identify the origin of cracks and the type of failure, allowing us to investigate the cause of the damage. We can understand the circumstances that led to the failure, such as fatigue failure, ductile failure, and brittle failure. [Customer Feedback] ■ We were able to understand the cause of the failure and implement countermeasures. ■ We were able to report the investigation results to the end user as findings from a third-party organization. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.
